Kingdom life Gospel ministries: Developing the Divine Nature

Christian maturity is measured in how you use your tongue - It is measured in words you speak everyday - your response to situations.

Bible Reference: James 3 New International Version:

Taming the Tongue

  • Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

  • We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

  • When we us; bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.

  • Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.

  • Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.
  • The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
  • All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind.
  • But no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
  • With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.
  • Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
  • Can both fresh water and saltwater flow from the same spring?
  • My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

Bible Reference: Proverbs 18:21

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Peter 1 :3-4 NIV: Confirming One’s Calling and Election

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Divine nature - means Godkind - like we say mankind - this is Godkind.

Bible References: 2 Corinthians 5:17

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation (recreated) old thing have gone all things have become new! Therefore, we are Gods offspring and His children now. We are no longer flesh and children of the flesh.

That's why you must be born again by incorruptible seed. When you are born of your natural father you are born of corruptible seed.

Bible Reference: 1 Peter 1:23 New International Version

23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

Question: What does Submitting to God mean?

Answer: To submit to God means to agree with Him. Means if God says it, That’s final! You are not in disagreement. You agree with what He says! That’s why you must know the Word of God to be in agreement with God .
